# Uninstall

> Remove Beckon and everything it keeps.

**1. Moving your licence? Deactivate it first**

If you have Beckon Pro and want to use the key on another Mac, open **Settings → Licence** and
click **Deactivate on this Mac**. That frees this Mac's slot.

**2. Quit Beckon**

Menu bar icon → **Quit Beckon**. If Beckon was hiding the Dock, your Dock comes back as it was.

**3. Delete the app**

Drag **Beckon** from Applications to the Trash.

**4. Remove its permissions (optional)**

In System Settings → Privacy & Security, select Beckon under **Accessibility** and **Screen
Recording** and click **−**. If you turned on Open at login, remove it from System Settings →
General → **Login Items** too.

## Everything Beckon keeps

To remove every trace, delete these too:

| Settings and pinned list | `~/Library/Preferences/app.withbeckon.Beckon.plist` |
| Your own Dock settings, while the Dock is hidden | `~/Library/Preferences/app.ring.dock.plist` |
| Licence key, trial start and this Mac's random id | Keychain Access → **login** keychain → items named `app.withbeckon.licence` |
