Settings - Beckon

Open Settings from the menu bar icon (Settings…), or press ⌘, while the ring is open. Options in Beckon Pro carry a Pro tag; without Pro they stay visible, switched off, with an Unlock… button.

General

Beckon Settings, General tab

Setting	What it does
Open Beckon at login	Starts Beckon when you log in. It appears in System Settings → General → Login Items.
Shortcut: Open the ring	Click it and press the keys you want. A shortcut needs ⌘, ⌃ or ⌥, or can be a function key on its own. Reset goes back to ⌥Space.
Middle-click opens the ring	The middle mouse button works like the shortcut. On by default.
Check for updates automatically	Once a day, asks withbeckon.app whether there’s a newer version (sending only Beckon’s and macOS’s versions) and offers it. On by default.

If another app already uses the keys you press, Settings says so and keeps your previous shortcut.

Apps

Beckon Settings, Apps tab

Setting	What it does
Show	Which apps the ring shows: Dock apps and open apps, Beckon’s pinned apps and open apps, or open apps only.	Pro
Pinned	Beckon’s own list, when you choose it above: Add…, Import from Dock, drag to reorder.	Pro
Folders and Trash	Your Dock’s folders and the Trash after the apps.	Pro
Hide the macOS Dock	Keeps the Dock out of sight; your own Dock settings come back when you turn it off or quit.	Pro

Look

Beckon Settings, Look tab

Setting	What it does
Style	Glass, Kiwi slice, Aura, Orbit or Outline.	Kiwi slice, Aura and Orbit are Pro
Background	For Kiwi and Aura: Frosted disc, Soft veil or None.	Pro
Use Outline for accessibility	Uses Outline while Reduce Transparency or Increase Contrast is on. On by default.

Windows

Beckon Settings, Windows tab

Setting	What it does
Show windows as	Outer arc, Column, or Apps only.	Pro
Window thumbnails	A small picture of each window. Off by default.	Pro
Preview size	How big the window you point at grows: 280 pt (the default) to 640 pt. Shown when thumbnails are on.	Pro

This tab also shows whether Accessibility and Screen Recording are allowed, with an Allow… button for each. More in Windows and Permissions.

Licence

Beckon Settings, Licence tab

Your trial, Free or Pro: buy Beckon Pro, paste a key to unlock it, or deactivate this Mac to use your key on another. See Free and Pro. Click the Beckon icon in the menu bar for:

A reminder of the shortcut: hold to flick, tap to keep the ring open.
Show Ring: opens the ring at the pointer, for a click.
Settings… and Welcome Guide…
Check for Updates…: looks for a newer version now.
Your licence: Pro trial · N days left, Unlock Beckon Pro… or Beckon Pro.
Quit Beckon. If Beckon was hiding the Dock, the Dock comes back.
